About coact

We are technical experts in harm reduction, drug treatment and community mobilisation with people who use drugs

Get in touch

Coact draws on lived and professional experience to foster meaningful partnerships between service providers, policymakers, researchers and people who use drugs.

Coact Consultants draw on our lived and living experience of drugs and our professional backgrounds to help strengthen harm reduction and drug treatment programmes and develop co-productions with people who use drugs.

Coact Consultants have contributed to the development of high-level guidelines and technical resources. Our technical advice and resources champion globally recommended good practices backed up by the research evidence.

Coact is a technical not representative agency. Many of our consultants have worked as high level advocates and representatives for people who use drugs engaging the United Nations, European Union, and other multilateral bodies. This equips us to technically support those playing advocacy or representative roles.

Working Languages

Coact Consultants speak Arabic, English, French and Russian and are experienced working with translators and translation tools.

Management and Hosting

Coact is registered as a not-for-profit in the UK where Coact is also data-hosted, insured, and managed. Coact uses project management to ensure high-quality delivery to agreed timelines and budgets.

Coact has a small Secretariat that draws together project executive and management functions, administration, financial management, and logistics. This team helps Coact operate as a community-led consulting company that is insured and complies with GDPR, safeguarding, and health and safety standards.
