Tatyana Sleiman

Tatyana Sleiman is a Lebanese harm reduction and mental health expert, independent consultant and advocate with lived experience of drug use. A clinical psychologist by training, she has nearly two decades of experience working at the intersection of harm reduction, drug policy reform, mental health, human rights and crisis response. As the former Executive Director of Skoun Lebanese Addictions Centre, where she worked for 15 years, Tatyana has led efforts to integrate opioid agonist treatment and community-based harm reduction into Lebanon’s public health system. She is a strong advocate for the decriminalisation of drug use and for evidence-based, rights-centred drug policies that respond to the intersecting realities of people who use drugs, LGBTQIA+ communities, youth, refugees, and other marginalised and crisis-affected populations. Tatyana is a Trustee of Harm Reduction International, a previous member of the International Drug Policy Consortium Advisory Council, an Advisory Board Member at Helem and a Volunteer Board Delegate with Médecins du Monde France. She is also a Ford Foundation Global Fellow. Through her independent consultancy, she supports organisations and institutions on harm reduction and mental health systems strengthening, strategy, resource mobilisation, community-led programming, and policy reform across humanitarian and development settings.
